Teeth Straightening Watford

FAQs about Teeth Straightening in Watford

I want a quick, affordable, and discrete option

We have three different brace options so you and I can discuss the brace that most suits your needs.

Can I get braces on the NHS?

There are circumstances that you can get NHS braces as an adult. It usually goes hand in hand with face/jaw surgery and will require a referral to the hospital. We will refer you if we think your treatment could be carried out on the NHS.

I don’t want the treatment to go on for years, I want fast braces

If you are suitable, the treatment can be completed in as little as 10 weeks, so it doesn’t need to go on for years.

But my teeth look so yellow as well

With many of the straightening treatments, we offer free teeth whitening. So you get a dazzling white smile to go with your straight teeth. A complete smile makeover!

I work full time, getting time off work is difficult

We offer Saturday appointments or late evening appointments are available on request.

There are so many adverts and different types of Clear Braces out there. What are the options for teeth straightening?

Some patients can have many different types of braces, other patients are not suitable. This means you need a consultation to be advised which brace is best. All the options will be discussed with you before you make a choice.

Can I straighten my own teeth?

Please do not try any home remedies. There is a serious risk of losing your teeth. Dentists and orthodontists are trained to establish how the teeth can move safely and by how far, making you a beautiful smile limiting the risks.

I’m worried I will look silly, like a teenager, and I’ll be laughed at for wearing adult braces.

Braces are not invisible, they are clear, but they are discrete. This means you can wear them at work and during meetings and telephone calls. They can also be removed if necessary. Teeth Straightening is not like it used to be.

I’m worried Clear Aligner Braces are too expensive

Adult braces can cost from only £2000, depending on the number of teeth being aligned. So you don’t have to spend many thousands of pounds aligning all your teeth. We call it “Social Six Orthodontics”. The cost covers your digital analysis, the pre-op assessment, radiographs and clinical photos, the cost of bespoke aligners made for you, the multiple appointment costs and your dental team fees.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. If you qualify, the cost can be spread over 3 installments.

I am not sure what to do. I have seen braces that can be delivered to my door

We carry out a full orthodontic assessment. This is much more than a standard check-up. We make sure the braces are suitable for your teeth, gums, smile, face & bone structure. We make sure the outcome is what you expect. A smile scan is only a possibility. If there are issues mid treatment, we are here for you. Dentist fitted – Dentist assessed – Dentist supported.

My teeth’s edges are worn and uneven, what can I do to improve their shape?

After your teeth straightening is finished and your teeth are whitened, we can add a small amount of white filling materials to the edge of your teeth. Direct composite bonding offers a fast, affordable and effective solution to fix minor cosmetic issues. They are cheaper and more conservative alternative to porcelain veneers.

The colour of the resin is matched to your tooth colour so it appears natural and adds a nice finish to your orthodontic treatment.  Also, small gaps can be closed using direct bonding.

Do I need to pay separately for bonding?

Yes, the cost is based on the number of the teeth which require bonding. Discuss the option with Dr Kimia if you are interested.

Do bondings last forever?

No, they are made of resin and they will wear off or chip and will need repair, replacement or maintenance. If you look after them and do not clench/grind your teeth, they should last for 2-3 years.
